Unless there are hidden under a rock somewhere, chances are you've heard the rumors about the latest offering from Nintendo Wii Fit. If you do not, here is a brief summary. Wii Fit is the new lifestyle product for the Wii console which combines the pleasure of playing with the benefits of exercise. The Wii has been a revolution itself in the way that allowed users to interact with games using wireless motion control were very sensitive Fun and easy to use, involving both players and non players. Wii Fit takes this concept further with the introduction of the Wii Balance Board that comes with the game
The Wii Balance Board
The Wii Balance Board is like a huge bathroom scale, but actually contains four pressure sensors that allow you to determine with precision a user's weight and position on the chessboard. This information is transmitted wirelessly to the Wii console, games to play a new variety movements and provide a totally new gaming experience. Wii Fit is the first game to take advantage of the Wii Balance Board and has over forty different exercises and games, including yoga, strength training, aerobics and balance games.
Wii Fit is an immediate success
Wii Fit was launched in Japan in early December 2007 and was an instant hit, selling nearly 1.8 million copies in the first four months. He was later released in England in April 25, 2008, and almost immediately the game head UK charts. Within days, retailers have sold all of its initial value assignments and is expected to Over 200 000 copies of Wii Fit were sold in the first week. In fact, a large street chain claimed discharge of 90 copies per minute on the day of launch. Wii Fit is scheduled to be released in Australia on May 8, 2008, and the U.S. 19.
What's next after Wii Fit?
Nobody can deny the success of Wii Fit before its U.S. launch, which will undoubtedly be massive, but I predict that eventually the Wii Balance Board, which will be the great success in 2008. Wii Fit has taken Wii from being just another game console as a product of real lifestyle that seems out of place in a house average and this will translate into increased potentially huge market for games. As the buzz and excitement of Wii Fit subsidies, many Wii Fit owners will begin to wonder what they can do with your Wii Balance Boards, and that is that things start to get interesting.
Upcoming Wii Balance Board Games
Today (1 May 2008), Wii Fit is the only game for the Wii Balance Board, but no doubt will change in coming months. Namco Bandai has already confirmed the release of We Ski U.S. on May 13 and 2K Sports have Don King Prizefighter, planned for June and the list will grow. In fact, Nintendo U.S. COO, Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed more than 10 games already developing.
There are no other games have been confirmed, but rumors are already spreading Snowboard Nintendo, EA Skate, Rayman Raving Rabbids and even future Mario games. As I said, nothing has been confirmed, but in any event, the Games Wii Balance Board will surely become a great success in 2008.
